The Release of the Detainees

This began when I saw a photograph in April. I was inspired by the optimism on the faces of people who had been held for years in Guantanamo Bay without having been formally charged. Here is the result, just finished. Oil on canvas, 30" x 40"

The Red Man

25 1/2" x 34 The Red Man was born in my basement studio in Anderson,IN in 1991. When he moved to New Orleans with me in 1993 his skin color appeared as the sweet olive tree bloomed in my window. He and his world blossomed quickly from there, completed in 1994.
